Atlas V • TDRS-M

TDRS-M (TDRS-13) is Tracking and Data Relay Satellite designed and manufactured by Boeing for NASA. It is based on BSS-601HP satellite bus with two R-4D-11-300 hypergolic thrusters, two deployable solar arrays and operational life at 15 years. Satellite will be placed on GEO orbit to support communication with two five meter flexible dish antennas operating on Ka, Ku and S band. Just as two previous satellites (K and L) launched in 2013 and 2014, weighing 3400 kg TDRS-M will be delivered to orbit by ULA Atlas V rocket in 401 configuration, which utilizes single core without boosters, 4 m wide payload fairing and Centaur upper stage with single engine.
