Next joint mission of SpaceX and Luxembourg SES Company. SES-11 is broadcasting satellite providing cover with range of its 24 C band and 24 Ku band transponders North America, including Hawaii, Mexico and the Caribbean. Satellite will replace AMC-15 and in case of failure AMC-18 spacecrafts at 105° W; it will remain on this position for at least 15 years. SES-11 is based on Eurostar-3000 bus and manufactured by Airbus Defence and Space. Satellite will be powered by onboard battery and deployable solar arrays which will provide 12 kW of power for weighing 5400 kg satellite.
During this mission SpaceX will utilize their Falcon-9 rocket, probably just like during SES-10 mission, in 1.2V version. With supercooled propellant, increased amount of LOX and redesigned thrust control in Merlin-1D engines, rocket will lift off from Cape Canaveral AFS on October 2016.
