New satellite for Japanese satellite operator SKY Perfect JSAT is designed and manufactured by Space Systems/Loral (SSL) under contract from 2012. It is communication satellite based on SSL-1300 platform. It is equipped in 26 C and 18 Ku band transponders with average power consumption at 10 kW, provided by two deployable solar arrays. Satellite will be placed into 154° East longitude orbit and over with Ku band transponders services Asia, Russia, Oceania, and the Pacific Islands. C band transponders will provide high speed data transfer especially for aviation and maritime. Estimated orbit life is at fifteen years. Satellite will be launched on atop new version of Falcon-9 rocket-1.2. Comparing to previous versions of Falcon, 1.2 had upgraded thrust control and engines. Launch is planned on January, February or March. Launch window is 05:22 GMT - 07:22 GMT.
