Long March 2D • Shijian-10

New Chinese research satellite is planned for first half of 2016. Shijian-10 (SJ-10) mission is under science program by National Space Science Center (CAS). SJ-10 is recoverable satellite designed by Hu Wenrui (academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences) for various science experiments over microgravity and space life. Research will refer to microgravity fluid physics, microgravity combustion, space materials science, space radiation biology, gravity biology, and space biotechnology. Satellite weight is 3600 kg and will be put into orbit 220 km x 482 km with inclination at 63°. Launch vehicle will be Long March 2D rocket. It is two stage rocket with liquid fueled propulsion. First stage is powered by four  YF-21C with total thrust at 2961.6 kN, second stage is powered by YF-24C engine which consists central YF-22C (thrust at 742.04 kN  ) and four stabilizing YF-23C (each with 47.1 kN of thrust). All engines are fueled with N2O4/UDMH.
