Long March 3B • Chinasat-16

Chinasat-16 (also known as ZX-16) is Chinese broadcasting and communication satellite designed by China Academy of Space Technology (CAST). It will be operated by China Satellite Communications Corporation and utilize Ka band during fifteen years of operational life. It will be placed on GTO orbit 110,5 ° E by Long March 3B rocket. Developed in mid-nineties by China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology Long March 3B, is three stage rocket with four strap-on liquid fueled boosters. It has payload capacity for GTO missions at 5,100 kg and is mainly used for commercial missions. In case of this mission it is possible, that launch will be delayed until March.
